Nike releases its pair for the lovers' holiday: Valentine's Day. Most of the pairs already released for the occasion in previous years had an air of romance thanks to their ornamentation and bright colors.
Nike is releasing shoes with a much more platonic design here: the Dunk Low "Yellow Heart", or the official sneaker of the friend zone.
The "Yellow Heart" is largely devoid of any embellishments, save for (you guessed it) a yellow heart on its lateral heel, raised above the rest of the shoe, trimmed in white and stamped with a small Swoosh.Β
Construction-wise, this low-top Dunk utilizes both smooth and tumbled white leathers, while finishing details are served up by an ever-so-pale yellow Swoosh and yellow Nike Sportswear graphics on the tongue, heel, and insole.
It's worth noting that an initial leak of the pair back in November showed it with a lot more shiny patent leather on its overlays.
A women's-sized sneaker that's likely to fall victim to its own success, the Nike Dunk Low "Yellow Heart" currently has no release date. However, it's likely to be around February 14th, which is Valentine's Day.
